Mystery, historical, and critical are genres I incorporate in this book. It has politics, gossips, rich problems, heartaches, passion, and doing what you like best. It’s one of those books that gets better the more pages you read.

I would lie if I say that I did not have a hard time reading the book. I found myself constantly opening google to find the meaning of certain words or phrases. The good thing about this is I have added more words to my vocabulary, I hope to use them though hahaha. Not until I reached 100 pages that I became comfortable reading the entire story (I thought I could not finish it at first but I really tried so pat in the back)
It is my 1st time reading a book from three perspectives, so basically, the book has three points of view the author, a second person, and a narrator. The parts are easily identified by the text’s font until you get sleepy and mixed them up hahaha.

One mistake I made is to keep on relating the characters of the book to real people so my mind sometimes drifts away.
The book has a Noli Me Tangere feels in it but with more recent events, settings, and situations thus making it more relatable
Summary
It’s about a student who lost his mentor and travels back to the Philippines to learn more about the cause of his death. If it is suicide or a conspiracy because of the current explosive novel he is writing.

To understand the death, Miguel scours the life, piecing together Salvador’s story through his poetry, interviews, novels, polemics, and memoirs.
Finally, we are surprised to learn that this story belongs to young Miguel as much as to his lost mentor, and we are treated to an unhindered view of a society caught between reckless decay and hopeful progress.
