Living 33km. away from Cebu City and working at home makes me not to explore more of Cebu’s gastronomic side, and when a good friend invited me to visit Balay sa Busay I said, why not give it a try and I was impressed.
Breathtaking View
Balay sa Busay is perfectly situated in Busay, where most people go to witness the perfect view of Cebu City as well as a glimpse of Mactan and nearby cities like Talisay in the south and Mandaue and Consolacion in the north.

I can totally understand why people go there for the views! Just look at that, amazing! I can’t say I’ve tried any of these foods before, and some of the ingredients I’ve never even heard of! But I’d definitely be willing to give them a try x
These are the dishes to look for when you visit the Philippines.
That’s a nice restaurant not very far from Cebu. The view is really good. I am wondering if they have vegan food. Do you get meatless food there?
Hi Shreya, they have vegan dishes available too.
Such variety in food, both the shrimp dishes looks yummy. I love shrimps but like you my husband is also allergic to it.
For sure you will enjoy the shrimp. Yes allergy sucks big time, good thing Balay sa Busay has a lot more to offer.
This is the first time I heard of Balay sa Busay and the place looks amazing. The views are definitely lovely. It is always great to find home-like food when you travel. The pics of the food had me drooling.
Totally agree. It is good to try local food but at the same time eat home-like food.
I’m so hungry now after reading this!! I like the look of the chilli wings, even though I’m a wimp at spice. The noodles look equally tasty too.
My tolerance to spice is below average but I managed to eat the chicken wings. 🙂
Wow! The food here in Balay sa Busay looks absolutely amazing. The banana cue a la mode and those wings look very tasty. Amd what a neat way to serve breakfast in a shovel. Did you like breakfast, lunch or dinner meals more?
The lunch meals are amazingly delicious. Yeah! creative for them to serve food from the shovel. 🙂
This looks like an amazing place to eat! The dishes you photographed look amazing, maybe only surpassed by the view from that balcony. Wow. I need to put Cebu City on my radar, for sure.
Yes, visit Cebu in the future. You will be amazed by what this little province has to offer.
The patio view looks stunning. I have only had tripe is soup, I bet it is much better fried. You are an adventurous eater!
I have not tried the tripe soup, but it sounds tasty. The fried tripe is delicious.
