2022 Life Update

This is a life status report that no one has specifically requested, but which I want to write and keep around for occasional reading.

2022 Life Update

The beginning of 2022 was monotonous and ordinary. Maintaining a steady, day-to-day level of existence. Work, exercise, rest, monthly hikes then repeat.

Here comes summer, the season I have been waiting for. Going home to Bohol at last after 2 years, Ate Mimi together with the rest of the Lunday fam is coming home here in PH. Plus, the national elections.

Summertime in my Home Province Bohol
Spending a summer in my home province with my loved ones is an experience unlike any other. Bohol is one of the Philippines’ islands that is home to some of the country’s most stunning beaches. I visited several resorts with mama and the younger sis. It was great to spend time exploring new tourist attractions with my family, in addition to the beach.

Trail Blazing – Bohol Edition
I always wanted to discover new trails in my hometown Jagna and one of the goals for coming home is to hike and climb several mountains – thus the Calamay Trail. A 9km hiking route that covers 3 barangays and 3 mountains.

Delightful Summer Memories
As mentioned, the Lunday fam has come home from the Land of the Gazelle – Abu Dhabi. Creating lasting relationships with my husband’s fam is one of my life’s greatest joys. The family took a much-needed summer vacation to Camotes and Oslob. Overindulgence in rounds of Nintendo Switch with the young’uns. Took the kids hiking on the Cebu Spartan Trail. Weekend plans included a lot of malling and, of course, Waily’s baptism.

Family on vacation

Tapangan Fam
My paternal family has finally come home too after 2 years from the land down under – Australia. So many catch-up chika plus doing some touristy things in the highlands of Cebu. They are coming back home next year and I can’t wait to bond with them again.

Bohol Once More
I went home to Bohol again for mama’s 70-1 birthday. As the mudras request, we had a simple celebration at home inviting relatives and neighbors. Spend another extra week in Bohol with family and meet up with high school girlfriends for that much-awaited catch-up.

Quality Time

Hello ate Ems
It’s been a while since I had a proper catch-up with ate Em’s and we did it with several cups of coffee in various cafes on the island of Mactan. Daghan man unta café sa Cebu City and Mandaue, nanglabang pagyud me ug isla. Hahaha.

Settling into our New Home
The most significant event of the year. I am grateful and thankful that babe and I have transferred to our new house. We’ve been praying for this and working hard to make it happen. This is the nest that we will be building for our family.

First Major Climb (Mt. Apo)
This year, I finally fulfilled a dream of mine and summited the Philippines’ highest peak. The first major climbed with babe. And the first major activity with newly found outdoor fam, the DHT.

Close friends married at last!
I find marriage one of the best things that could ever happen to someone. Sealing the deal to a lifelong journey together and ensuring each other be by each other’s side forever. It’s wonderful to rejoice in the fact that a friend has finally found someone with whom he can spend the rest of his life. Best wishes to Moj and Nels!

Trying Something New (Trail Running)
While I’m no stranger to running, I haven’t tried trail running. Recently, I decided to give trail running a try, and I’ve been hooked. If the opportunity arises, I will do it again in a heartbeat. I completed it at a reasonable time and placed 8th in the women’s category.

Road to 1st Full Marathon (CCM 2023)
In January of 2023, I plan to run my first marathon (Cebu City Marathon 2023). I’m not the kind to go headfirst into anything, so I’m spending the rest of November and December doing my best to get some miles.

Just Do it enjoy the process

This is me happy to be able to finish my first marathon strong with the guidance of my husband. I will be writing about my 1st marathon journey and experience soon.

The Holidays
December is my favorite month of the year. When you add the chill of the cold season to the cheer of the season, you have every reason to rejoice. This is also our wedding anniversary month so too many to love about this month. Unlike previous years, we have not traveled anywhere, just simply celebrated with a movie and dinner out. Also, it’s mama Nit’s birthday, which we shall honor.

Favorite Month December

The second half of the year was filled with nothing but excitement, novelty, and enjoyment. New things will eventually become normal.

Friendship

Friendship
People come and go and that is part of life. Some friendships have been shaken. It’s a relief that most of them are strengthened. To the ones that have passed, I wish you well, and may our paths meet again.

Relationship
We fight, we argue, we forgive, we make up. There are sad and happy moments. We learn and grow together.

Family
Renewing the ones that were broken. Healing the ones that were hurt. Praying for love, and respect to prevail.

Personal
Awakening the old diligent self. Working on what matters first before fun. Instilling prioritization. Proud of the things physically and mentally achieve.

I am very much looking forward to what 2023 has stored for me. There is no doubt that 2023 will be just as miraculous as 2022 was.
