One of your Bohol itineraries, often your second stop after the Blood Compact site, is in Baclayon, Bohol, Philippines. Here, you can find the second oldest stone church in the Philippines – the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, famously known as the Baclayon Church.
Before you continue your day of touring around Bohol, take a short walk from Baclayon Church to Crescencia Food and Coffee. Here, you can get your locally sourced coffee fix and try Bohol’s breakfast spread and kakanin goodness, providing the energy you need for a full day of activities in Bohol.
Popular Café in Bohol
Crescencia Food and Coffee is a family-owned, popular café and restaurant in Baclayon. It offers a unique, cozy atmosphere, familiar tastes, and delicious local cuisine. What sets this Bohol café apart is that it is housed inside the ancestral home of the owner, Mr. Narciso Ginete. Crescencia is named after the owner’s grandmother.
Adding to the charm of Crescencia Food and Coffee is that every nook is enjoyable. There is a corner for board games where you can play the traditional Filipino game, sungka. Another corner showcases various art pieces highlighting the talents of Boholanos, some of which are for sale. My favorite corner is the mini library, where you can choose from books of various genres.
I visited this Baclayon café twice, and my favorites are the Ube-Biko paired with sikwati with milk, lechon kawali, humba, and carbonara.
How about the coffee?
My coffee preferences are either drip black, coffee mocha, or coffee latte, and all are to my liking. The coffee mocha is not too sweet, with the chocolate not overpowering the coffee, and the coffee latte has just the perfect mixture of milk and coffee – not bland at all.
After all the Bohol tours and visiting famous Bohol landmarks and Bohol tourist spots, downtime is a must to rest those tired feet and muscles from all the walking and traveling. What better way to rest than to lounge at a café where you still experience the Boholano vibe at a slower pace?
There are several cafés in Bohol, and coffee shops in Tagbilaran are sprouting like mushrooms everywhere. But if you are touring Bohol, you are likely staying in Panglao, where coffee shops are also plentiful. Travel a little farther, and you will reach Crescencia Food and Coffee.
